Kathmandu’s emerging talented lads are giving hard time to coaches and selection committee of Kathmandu Kings XI.

According to the rule of EPL, every team must appoint one new player through talent hunt programme so Kathmandu Kings XI had started their talent hunt programme last week. Pace of cricketing passion in Nepal is growing rapidly but there isn’t enough opportunity for them. Young players are lacking the chances to express themselves hence this second edition of EPL has come up with a new shine for them.

Player of respective six places would get chance to play with and against national player of Nepal so all emerging players looks vow to make this rare opportunity count. Talking about Kathmandu Kings XI talent hunt programme, There were over 150 talented players whose future is definite if they get more opportunity in near future. “We had a amazing pool of over 150 cricket players out of which 26 players were selected for the talent hunt. We still are having a hard time in selecting between these twenty six because all the players have shown outstanding performances in the match however, we do have an eye in few talented ones for the team”, Manoj Katuwal, coach of KKXI stated with grace. Similarly Nepal cricket team national player Naresh Budhayar also couldn’t restrict himself from admiring these emerging talent. “I am amazed by the passion these youths have for cricket. These young players are amazingly talented and passionate about cricket and I can see a bright future for the cricket scenario for Kathmandu and the country”.

Selected 26 players are continuously having matches in Mulpani Cricket Ground to examine their aptitude, sport performance factor (Physical, technical, tactical and psychosocial). There is surely a big headache for the team management of KKXI to select individual from these talented bunch of young players. Rest 25 players wouldn’t get justice if they wouldn’t get further opportunity in near future.

Kathmandu Kings XI is representing Kathmandu in the second edition of TVS EPL. KKXI is a team combined by experience players as well as dynamic young lads. Six players are from national side where three players had already represented Nepal in U19 level in the past.
